An adaptation of the Japanese brick toast, definitely a meal which can pass of as breakfast and dessert!
Ingredients
Half a loaf of bread
2 eggs
1/4 cup of milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Berries (for topping)
Powdered Sugar (for topping)
Instructions:
With a knife, cut a square into the bread, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides and the bottoms
Remove the "flesh" of the bread, and cut it into cube pieces
Combine the eggs, milk and 1 tbsp of sugar.
Coat the pieces of bread in the egg mixture and brush the outside of the bread with the egg mixture
On a greased frying pan, cook the bread cubes and the loaf of bread until golden brown
Whilst cooking, combine the remaining amount of sugar and cinnamon
Once cooked, cover the bread cubes with cinnamon sugar
Layer the berries and french toast cubes in the empty space of the loaf
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve, enjoy!
